Dammit, Why Doesn’t He Like Me Back?
Everybody goes through that one experience is life in which you love a person but s/he does not reciprocate your feelings. While the general belief is that it’s mostly the guys who are at the receiving end of unrequited love, the fact is that this is something girls go though in equal measure. Perhaps, they conceal their disappointment a lot better than the guys and accept it gracefully. But, pain is not biased towards any gender and girls, too, go through a huge deal of pain and sorrow after they realize that the guy they are in love with does not like them back. The first question that comes to mind when you realize the guy does not like you back is ‘Why?’. You wonder what could be the reason behind him not reciprocating your feelings. Are you not pretty enough? Do you come across as a dull and boring person? So many self deprecating questions come to your mind that dampen your spirit. The most basic reason behind a guy not liking you is well, he does not like you. But, the question remains the same. Why does not he like you back?
Here are a few reasons as to why doesn’t he like you back:
- You are not attractive
Before you scream and shout at your mirror, you must know that being attractive is not limited to looks. Being attractive could also mean having a good personality, speaking well or having a good IQ. - Compatibility issues
In a relationship, it is important for both the partners to be compatible with each other. Perhaps, he feels that you both are starkly different as individuals and have nothing in common. As there is no common link there is nothing for you to discuss with each other. So, there is no point in being a relationship.
- Just friends
He likes you but only as a friend. You have all that he seeks in a great friend but for a girlfriend, he may be looking for something else. Do not get disheartened. The reason could also be that he does not want both of you to go beyond friendship as he feels it would snatch away the purity of the friendship you both share. - He is shy
He is someone who is not too comfortable around girls and is shy when it comes to matters of the hearty. Unlike you, he has not grown yup fantasizing about love and relationships and has not given it much of a thought. He does not think he is cut out for a relationship.
- He does not know yet

- Trying to hard
Trying too hard to get a guy is never a good thing to do. It could result in two things. First, he could feel that you are too easy to get and would not be interested in chasing you. Second, he will get irritated by your attempts to impress him. Either ways, you lose him. That does not mean you would not express yourself. Be yourself and act natural.
- You do not meet his standards
As crazy or unreasonable as it may sound, a lot of guys have set a standard for each of the qualities they expect to find in their dream girl. Sometimes, their expectations are too high which does not help them in finding the girl. The reason behind him ignoring you could be that you do not meet the unusually high standards set by him. - He does not notice you
You are around him all the time but there is something that keeps you out of his glare. You should put in more effort to talk to him and register your presence around him. Figure out the reasons as to why he has not taken any nice of you till now.
- Give him time
The guy could need some time before he could decide whether he likes you or not. Your proposal could have taken him aback completely and he needs some time to wrap his head around the fact that you like him. 10 He is taken
There is not much you can do after a guy is taken, right? You could be unaware of the fact that he is already in a relationship. How can you expect him to date you when he is already committed to someone else? You must deal with this fact and stop thinking about him.
You must try to win the guy but you should not push your lick beyond a point. You are a good person but maybe you do not have what have he is looking for. Remember, there are a lot of guys in the world. So, even if you missed out on one, there are several others who would be willing to date you. Life is full of disappointments and one must deal with them.
